Georgia Hunter Education Course Practice Exam

When crossing a fence while hunting, it is important to prioritize safety at all times. Placing the firearm under the fence before crossing is the recommended practice as it ensures that the firearm remains under control and pointed in a safe direction. This reduces the risk of accidental discharge and helps prevent the firearm from getting caught or dropped while climbing over the fence. Therefore, this option promotes safe firearm handling practices, making it the correct choice.

The other options are not recommended practices for safely crossing a fence while hunting. Crossing over the fence with the firearm loaded can lead to accidental discharge, handing your firearm to another person after you cross is not safe as it can result in a dropped or mishandled firearm, and throwing the firearm over the fence before crossing can lead to damage or accidental discharge.
